What did these beautiful trees do to deserve such a sad end to their life in Banya?
Hundreds of beautiful Acacia trees have been cut in the Banya City Park for firewood and commercial use. Many were sixty and seventy year old trees and dated from King Boris' time. They had withstood numerous storms, cold winters and dry summers and were once a part of the rich heritage and history of the city and area. The park area today bears no resemblance to the once beautiful and stately forest it once was.
This is part of what is left of the once beautiful Acacia wood trees and the area once known as the Banya City Park.
